COMPANY BIOGRAPHY
In the mid 1970's, a young man by the name of Douglas Wayne Perry began working for his father, Joseph Perry, in the roofing industry. If you ask Doug, he will tell you, "I've been on roofs for as long as I can remember." Joe taught Doug everything he knew and in May, 1985, Doug founded Allied Roofing.
In the early days, he had one faithful employee and one other roofer. They were located in a one room office and warehouse. Doug was, and still is, a "Hands on Owner." Most days he can be found on someone's roof in the Central Ohio Area.
Allied Roofing is a self-made - privately owned company. It took hard work and great customers to get Allied Roofing where it is today. In November, 2001, they moved into 10,000 square feet of office and warehouse facility at 1960 Integrity Drive South, Columbus, Ohio 43209 with a fleet of trucks.
Until his death in August, 1998, Joe Perry provided moral support to his son and consulted with him on many projects. He taught Doug basic principles and honest workmanship. "My principles for our business are simple – give the customers what they paid for, using quality people and quality materials, in a timely manner," Doug says.
When asked if he had received any awards, Doug said, "Awards do not make us a good roofing company, people do," however, when you walk into his office, you will see that his wall is lined with Awards and Plaques. "I am proud of the fact that I am a GAF Master Contractor," says Doug. (Click on the GAF icon for more information.)
Since 2003, Doug Perry has been a member of the City of Columbus Home Improvement Licensing Board of Review.
And, the legend continues. Doug and his wife Angela are the proud parents of two boys, Austin Joseph, 8 years old, and Ethan Joseph 5. Austin loves riding in the Allied truck and going out to the roofs with his dad.
Perhaps you have seen the Allied Roofing logo on buses and our trucks, or the Allied banner flying high above Murfield, The Ohio State University horseshoe, and the 4th of July celebration. We advertise on the radio, TV, and in the yellow pages. Look for our booth at the annual Central Ohio Home & Garden Show presented by National City Bank and Dominion Homes located at the Ohio Expo Center.
